Basalt: description, capacity and results obtained
Because our basalt rock powder is approve for sale in Canada we could only advise what on the label model product witch is:
Our natural basalt amendment is an effective liming material to raise pH of the soil.
Our basalt could be added to compost at a rate of 10 kg per cubic yard of compost.

Here are some benefits claim by research on other basalt rock dust that Basaltec Ltée will work in the future.
Rejuvenate the mineral and chemical properties of highly weathered soils;
Improve the cation exchange capacity of the soil;
Enhance the ability of soils to retain nutrient cation;
Enhance the ability of soils to supply nutrient cation to plants;
Reduce phosphorus fixation capacity, so that phosphates added in fertiliser are kept in soil solution and are more readily available for plant nutrition;
Provides silicon for the uptake in plant cells, which is thought to result in improved plant vigour and quality.
Provides slow, natural release of elements and trace minerals.
Increases the nutrient intake of plants.
Rebalances soil pH.
Increases microbial and earthworm activity and improves biodiversity
Builds humus.
Prevents soil erosion.
Increases the storage capacity of the soil.
Increases resistance to insects, disease, frost, and drought.
Produces more nutritious crops.
Decreases dependence on fertilisers, pesticides, and herbicides.
Boosts plant growth
Dramatically increases crop yield
Improves disease resistance of crops
Extends shelf-life of crops
Improves flavour of edible crops
Improves nutritional value of crops
Benefits the soil and the environment
Improves fertility of the soil
Binds up pollution caused by chemical fertilisers
Reduce the social, economic, and environmental impact of algal blooms and other evidence of high nutrient levels in waterways downstream of agricultural activities
Reduces greenhouse gases via carbon sequestration when added to soil the trace elements and minerals bond with CO2 in the atmosphere.
Facilitates composting
Increases composting rates
Increases heat generated during composting
Binds up ammonia in the soil
Reduces composting odours
Improves compost fertility
Benefits the national waste strategy
Improves nutrition
Improves health of those eating food crops
The production capacity of our mill is 10 tons per hour at 80% at 200 meshs.
Future research on our basalt
In future research Basaltec Ltée would like to approve is blue basalt rock dust for paramagnetic because blue basalt rock is known for the highest paramagnetic level.
Over the years we would like to conduct several experiments to add proven benefits to our label model that other company claim that basalt rock dust have.
Remember that biology is the principle yield-builder after the soil chemistry has been corrected:
The chemistry referred to is not a reference to chemical fertilizers, but rather the chemistry associated with mineral balance. A correct calcium / magnesium ratio is the single most important factor involved in this balancing act, but there are exact amounts of every element required for maximum fertility in any given soil.
Biology, in this context, refers to “living fertilizers” like fish, kelp, vermicast, composted fertilizers, animal manures, microbial inoculants and it also refers to materials like humates, sugar, colloidal phosphate and rock minerals, which provoke a microbial response.
The point is that the biological materials can be substantial yield-builders, but only after soil balance is improved. This is one of the most misunderstood features of natural fertilizer inputs in conventional agriculture. These products can provide remarkable yield increases, but disappointments are invariably related to sluggish soil-life associated with poorly balanced soils.
